What is the Walmart Money Center?
The Walmart Money Center is Walmart’s very own in-store financial center where customers can do their usual banking activities and transactions like sending & receiving money, cashing checks & money orders, paying bills, and more. Designated Walmart Money Centers are located inside most stores, though it’s important to note that ALL stores offer Money Center services, even without a designated Walmart Money Center.
What are the Walmart Money Center Hours?
Walmart Money Centers are generally open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Mondays through Saturdays and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sundays but business hours may vary from location to location and during holidays.
To check for the nearest Walmart Money Center’s operating hours, you may visit their website then go to “Store Finder” and enter your location. This will show you a list of all the Walmart stores near you, as well as their phone number, business hours and services offered (including Money Center).
What Services are Available?
Walmart Money Centers offer a wide variety of banking services like check cashing, bill pay, and more.
- Check cashing – check cashing is one of Walmart Money Center’s most in-demand services. Limits vary by state law. The check-cashing limit is $5,000. During tax time, Walmart raises that limit to $7,500. Fees range from $4 (cash check up to $1000) to $8 (cash check between $1000 and $5000).
- Bill Pay – pay all of your bills in one go at your local Walmart Money Center and have your payments posted within the same day. Fees vary by biller and delivery speed.
- Send and receive money locally and internationally via MoneyGram and complete your transaction within minutes. Fees range from $4 (for remittances up to $50) to $16 (for remittances from $1,001 to $2,500).

- Money order services – no checking account? No problem! Go to your nearest Walmart Money Center to purchase money orders or cash MoneyGram money orders. Please check with the store for cashing fees.
- Paypal – reload and withdraw money from your Paypal account at any Walmart Money Center for only $3. You can also use your Paypal account to shop in-store at Walmart and other retailers where MasterCard is accepted when you avail of the PayPal Cash Plus Card.
- Capital One Rewards Mastercard application & account management – enjoy more rewards (from 1% up to 5%, depending on the way you shop) and zero annual fees and foreign transaction fees. Cash advances are also offered with a convenience fee of $10 or 3% of the total amount requested, whichever is higher.
