But before you go there, remember to read this article. We’ll discuss the Meijer weekly ad and other money-saving hacks for the avid shoppers of the store.

What is the Meijer Weekly Ad?

The Meijer sales ad is a virtual treasure trove for regular shoppers. It compiles all the best and limited deals, including discounted groceries, buy-one-take-one meats, mix-and-match promos, and other offers.

Nearly all types of products are included in the Meijer ad. Thus, you’ll see sales for fresh produce, household essentials, health items, beauty care products, groceries, pet supplies, and more.

What Makes the Meijer Weekly Ad Unique?

Here are a few things that set the Meijer ad apart from others:

1. Website and PDF Versions

Most supermarkets feature a PDF ad that is posted on their website. This ad resembles traditional flyers in terms of visual aesthetics, which are colorful and packed with photos.

Meanwhile, other stores opt for a webpage ad. It looks like an online shop, so you can easily add items to your cart. It’s more convenient but less creative.

Instead of going for one or the other, as most companies do, Meijer opted to have both. Thus, you have a fun PDF ad you can print so it looks like a flyer.

However, if you want to purchase deals ASAP, use the weekly ad page. Another advantage to this page is it hosts the complete set of promos.

Therefore, if you refer to the flyer only, you might miss some deals. Furthermore, the web page ad indicates which products are in stock.

2. PDF Ad is Long

Most traditional or PDF weekly ads are a few pages long, around six or so pages. Thus, it was surprising that a Meijer flyer can go up to 20+ pages.

That only means that there are so many Meijer sales this week. After all, the flyer is only the shortened version – the website version is the complete database.

3. Discounts for Bulk Purchases

There are many reasons as to why buying in bulk saves you money. But Meijer adds to those with the many discounts for bulk purchases it offers through its weekly ad.

Among them, the most prominent is the buy six save $3. Three dollars may seem little, but it will correspond to significant savings in the long term compared to bulk purchasing from other stores.

4. BOGO Free

BOGO stands for buy one get one. Therefore, BOGO free means you get the second or other item for free.

Most stores have BOGO deals, but the second item is usually only discounted. So, they’ll offer BOGO 30%, 40%, or 50%.

However, Meijer doesn’t stop at mere discounts. It gives you the second item for free! That can add to significant savings, especially for bulk shoppers.

How to Use the Meijer Weekly Ad

Are you eager to look for the Meijer deals this week? Here are the steps you can follow:

Traditional/PDF Weekly Ad

If you prefer the traditional weekly ad, here’s what you should do:

  1. Open the Meijer website.
  2. Select “Weekly Ad” on the secondary navigation menu. It should be the one between Coupons and Services.
  3. Scroll up and down to see all the pages and products.
  4. You can click on an offer to know more about it. A sidebar will appear upon clicking, bearing more details about the item.
  5. If you want to download the ad as a PDF, look at the top right. There will be a dropdown menu called “Download”.
  6. Click on the first option of the dropdown menu. Your desktop will prompt you to save the flyer, and you should click “Save”.
  7. Some pages look like collages of brand posters. If you click on them, you’ll be directed to the brand’s page on the Meijer website.
  8. Coupons are also featured on the PDF. A sidebar will appear with a “Clip Coupon” button if you click on them.

Note that there won’t be interactive elements if you open the PDF outside of the website. You can’t click on a product and expect a sidebar to appear.

Web Page Weekly Ad

Here’s how you can shop with the weekly ad:

  1. Open the Meijer website.
  2. Below the “welcome back” greeting is a “Shop the weekly ad” button. Press it.
  3. Once you’re on the page, notice that the products are sorted into categories like fresh, grocery, household essentials, health & beauty care, and pets.
  4. You can click on the categories to proceed to them. However, you can also scroll down to find them.
  5. The top deals for each category are featured on this page. You can use the left and right buttons to see all of them. But if you want to see more, click the shop button below the product gallery.
  6. If there’s an item you wish to add to your cart, click the blue circle with a plus sign.
  7. You can also click on an item to find more details.

How to Save While Shopping at Meijer

Get bigger savings while shopping at Meijer with these tips:

1. Sign Up for mPerks

Meijer rewards customers through mPerks. If you’re part of the program, you’ll earn 10 points for every dollar you spend on their store or 1,000 points for every qualified prescription you fill at the company’s pharmacy.

Sign-up is easy and free for mPerks. Once you have an account, ensure you also have the app. It’s the best and most convenient way to track your points and savings.

With the app, you can also check for products that will earn you more points! Then, you can access the Claim tab to see what rewards you can redeem with your points.

One of the rewards for mPerks points is fuel savings. You can save 10 cents to a dollar per gallon, depending on the number of points you have.

2. Use the Other Ads

If you visit the traditional or PDF weekly ad, you’ll notice other ads beside it. They could be a tailgate or automotive ad.

These ads feature other deals that are not included in the weekly ad. For instance, the automotive ad highlights promos for engine oil, air fresheners, or drain chemicals. Typically, the products in the ad are for car and lawn care.

Meanwhile, the tailgate ad is perfect for those planning a barbecue party! Its promos include charcoal grills, BBQ meats, sausages, bread, griddles, paper towels, and other items.

Note that the promos in these ads typically last longer than the weekly ad. Thus, you have more time to plan and shop.

But they are not equivalent to a Meijer monthly ad. There is none like that.

3. Shop with Coupons

Like most stores, Meijer honors coupons, especially the ones they release! Such coupons are featured in the weekly ad, but if you want to find all of them, you need to visit the Coupons page.

Through the page, it’s easier to find and clip vouchers. You can use the search bar or select by category.

The categories are not just product types, too. They also include In Ad and Online Deals, so you know which coupons are featured in the weekly ad or are for online use only.

Additionally, these coupons are long-lasting compared to the weekly ad. Thus, you can clip them and bring them up when needed.

But make sure you know their expiration dates! You can’t redeem a coupon once it has expired.
